Your initial consultation is a chance for us to get to know each other, for you to try the instrument, and to develop a tailored learning plan together. We'll spend some of the time talking, and some of the time playing!

During the trial, you'll be able to ask lots of questions, learn some new skills, and play some songs. At the end of the consultation you'll have the option to enrol on the day if you choose, or I can follow up with you later in the week.

30 minutes is the ideal lesson time for beginners, and for most continuing students. It gives us enough time to work through all your pieces and have meaningful musical discussions. This lesson time also aligns well with a balanced practise schedule that school students can maintain on a regular basis.

45 minute lessons are suitable for students who have a higher workload, or are working on more advanced pieces. The extra time provides more room to work through your pieces as usual, as well as keeping on top of the extra bits you may be working on, such as exam preparation or performance practise. Once you're in healthy practise habits, this lesson time will assist you in weekly work without adding an overwhelming amount of tasks.

60 minute lessons are most suited for adults, and students who get lots done in a week! The longer lesson time works well for those who have lots of questions each week, and are interested in having in-depth discussions about your music and instrument. We can work through multiple pieces, including long-term projects, and you'll be given a larger practise load of extra activities to try during the week.

60 minute tutoring sessions are available for students who are preparing for exams or wanting some additional help with written music, as either a one-off or an ongoing commitment.
